Shane Hoey, a native of Killanny, Carrickmacross,
Co. Monaghan,
was recently diagnosed with stage 4
intestinal cancer.
In 1999, Shane came to NYC to follow his dreams.
He joined the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local
Union 608 and has remained an active member ever
since.
In 2003, Shane became the proud father of Jack. For
the last nine years, Jack, a keen swimmer, talented
musician, little leaguer and boy scout, has been
Shane’s life. Today, Shane continues his fight for the
both of them and is focused on healing with an
incredibly positive attitude. However it's hard for Shane
not to worry about the financial impacts of his diagnosis
and treatments.
